Parents are Mike and Joy...has a pet boa constrictor...brother, Matt, is a freshman wide receiver at BYU...majoring in zoology.

Before BYU

Lettered twice in football, once in baseball and basketball...was outstanding offensive back, defensive back and team MVP...was all-conference running back and defensive back...all-county defensive back...named Italian athlete of the year in San Leandro area.

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1982

Walked on as a freshman and earned a spot on the varsity...one of only a few freshman walkons ever to travel with the varsity...was the only freshman to make the trip to Georgia...injured in a jayvee game, preventing him from seeing more varsity action.

Sophmore Year 1984

Worked into the receiving rotation and started the latter part of the season...was receiver of the week against Tulsa (six catches for 141 yards), Air Force and UTEP (four catches, 50 yards, 1 TD)...caught three passes for 48 yards in the Holiday Bowl vs. Michigan...his total of 35 catches was one of the highest ever by a sophomore.

Junior Year 1985

Named second team United Press All-American and third team Associated Press All-America...first team All-WAC selection...finished 10th nationally in receiving with an average of 5.7 catches per game...was third in WAC scoring (7.6) and receiving...missed the New Mexico and UTEP games because of a shoulder separation...caught five passes for 87 yards vs. Ohio State in the Citrus Bowl...had nine catches for 179 yards and three TDs vs. Temple.
