Born in Provo ... parents are Aaron and Sharlene ... played in the Best in the West Tournament in 2002 at Los Angeles ... played for Team Utah in the Moscow-Utah Games at Russia in 2003 ... brother Jared played baseball two years at Utah Valley State College and brother Travis now plays for UVU ... served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission to Texas Houston East ... broke his foot four times ... once as a Little Leaguer he hit two homers and had to use a pinch runner both times because his foot was in a cast ... majoring in sociology.

Before BYU

Prepped at Provo High where he was coached by former Cougar Lance Moore ... lettered four times in baseball, three times in football and once in wrestling ... was the 2003 Wendy's High School Heisman Award winner for Utah ... won the Distinguished Male Athlete Award presented by the U.S. Marine Corps ... won the Pacific Islander ALII Award three years in a row ... was first team all-state three times and all-region four times ... was two-time team MVP ... made the all-tournament teams in Lubbock, Texas in 2002 and twice in Farmington, N.M., in 2003 and 2004 ... had a career batting average of .468 with 18 homers.
