Prepped at Millikan High where he was All-CIF Southern Section and All-Moore League and a member of the Irvine Big West Tournament Select Team. ... was team captain and MVP ... had a 1.4 ERA in 72 innings pitched with 96 strikeouts and 11 walks for a 10-2 record, two saves and six complete games ... lettered three times in baseball and once in basketball ... coached by Dan Peters ... recruited by Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State and the Air Force Academy.

Freshman Year 2003

Third in the starting rotation with a 4-2 record, Gravley earned All-MWC Second Team recognition for his achievements on the mound ... he made 10 MWC game appearances and ended with an impressive 3-1 record ... helped BYU to five of its six one-run victories and was stung in three of its 11 one-run losses ... one of his clutch performances came in the MWC Tournament at Albuquerque when he faced only one New Mexico batter, striking him out looking on the only three pitches he threw with one out and a man on second in a game tied at 6-6 in the ninth ... he threw seven innings in a no decision vs. Utah at the MWC Tournament to help defeat the Utes and send the Cougars into the semi-finals ... threw a three-hitter in a 10-1 victory over Gonzaga.
