Six Cougars Honored in All-WCC Teams
SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Six members of the BYU women's soccer team were honored by the West Coast Conference as members of its All-Conference teams for 2011.
Junior Lindsi Lisonbee was named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team after being part of a defense that allowed just 16 goals all season while netting four of her own and contributing two assists and 20 shots. Lisonbee is also one of 42 Division I women's soccer athletes on the 2011 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
Junior Carlee Payne was named to the All-WCC Second Team and finished the year second on the team in total goals with five while also adding a team-high nine assist and 34 shots.
Teammates Colette Jepson, McKinzie Olson and Rachel Manning were all included as All-WCC Honorable Mention. Jepson recorded a team-high 57 shots in her first year with BYU after transferring from UNLV. Manning's presence in the midfield helped the team score 37 goals this year, one of them coming from her while also contributing eight shots.
Olson is BYU's all-time career saves leader and has been a starter for BYU at the goalkeeper position for four years. She totaled over 1,700 minutes for the Cougars this year and made 72 saves.
Freshman Jaiden Thornock was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team. In her first year wearing Cougar blue, Thornock netted four goals while adding one assist and 30 shots. Thornock played in all 19 games for BYU this season.
