Abby Stainton and Haley Pitou receive All-MRGC bars honors
LOGAN, Utah - The MRGC announced accolades for 2020 Bars Specialist of the Year and all-conference bars performers on Tuesday. Amongst the honorees are BYU juniors Abby Stainton and Haley Pitou.
Boise State junior Emily Muhlenhaupt walked away with Bars Specialist of the Year, along with first-team All-MRGC. For reference, her NQS sat at the fourth highest in the nation, a 9.945. Joining her on the first team is Stainton, whose 9.875 NQS earned her third place overall.
Stainton competed in all 10 meets and held a 9.775 or higher consistently and achieved a new career-high score of 9.925 in 2020.
Next up, Pitou landed in fourth place in the conference to earn second-team All-MRGC honors. She maintained a 9.860 NQS, also earning a personal best this season of 9.900.
The awards will continue when the MRGC announces Beam Specialist of the Year and All-MRGC honors for the event on Wednesday, March 25.
