PROVO, Utah — Senior Alexandra White was named an honorable mention All-American, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced on Tuesday.

White finished her BYU career at the NCAA Division I Golf Championships, representing the Cougars as an individual competitor. She tied for 14th and shot +9 through three rounds of stroke play at Rich Harvest Farms.

In the 2016-17 campaign, White boasted a team-best 10 top-20 finishes in 11 stroke-play tournaments, nine of which were top-10 finishes. The senior also finished the season with a 72.97 stroke average, the best yearly average of her Cougar career.

The California native received medalist honors at the 2017 WCC Championships held at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah. The senior carded 73-74-70 to shoot +1 and record the victory.

White is one of six BYU women’s golfers to earn All-America honors, and the first since Rachel Newren’s second-team nod in the 2006-07 season. BYU head coach Carrie Roberts also was named an honorable mention All-American during BYU's 1999-2000 campaign.
