Women continue spring in Bay Area

PROVO, Utah — Coming off a fifth place finish at The Gold Rush, BYU women’s golf looks to continue its spring season at the Bay Area Intercollegiate Monday.

Thirteen teams will travel to Fairfax, California, to participate in the Bay Area Intercollegiate co-hosted by the University of San Francisco and San Jose State. Along with BYU and USF, Gonzaga and Pepperdine will represent the West Coast Conference.

BYU women’s golf took 11th place at last year’s event, while Lea Garner led the Cougars finishing in 21st place, individually.

Held at a par of 72, teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday. Groups will begin the tournament teeing off in a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. PST. The event can be followed live.
