Women's golf to begin spring season against Colorado State

PROVO, Utah —BYU women’s golf looks to begin its spring season in Phoenix on Friday, as the team will participate in a head-to-head duel against Colorado State.

The Cougars will play three rounds of 18 holes against the Rams throughout Friday and Saturday.

“We are looking forward to get back to competing,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “We have had a great last two weeks of practice, and I feel that we are at a better level than where we ended the fall season. We are anxious to get out and compete against great competition this spring.”

BYU is coming off of a successful fall season. The team competed in four tournaments in the fall 2015 season and took first place in three of its four events.  As a team, the Cougars had eight top-5 finishes, nine top-10 and 16 top-20 individual finishes in the fall, and freshman Rose Huang finished first individually at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in October.

This spring, BYU women’s golf is scheduled to compete in five tournaments and will host the BYU Entrada Classic March 14-15, at Entrada at Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah.
