Women’s Basketball announces 2022-23 WCC schedule

SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference released its 2022-23 women’s basketball conference schedule on Tuesday.

The 18-game conference schedule is slated to begin on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2022 and will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.

The defending regular season champions open WCC play with a pair of games in the Pacific Northwest. They open conference play on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Gonzaga followed by a trip to Portland on Dec. 19.

BYU opens the home portion of the conference schedule on Dec. 29, when it welcomes Pacific to the Marriott Center. Two days later, they host Saint Mary’s on New Year’s Eve before concluding the three-game homestand on Jan. 7 against San Diego.

The Cougars hit the road for the first time in 2023 with games at Loyola Marymount (Jan. 12) and Pepperdine (Jan. 14) before returning to Provo to host San Francisco (Jan. 19) and Santa Clara (Jan. 21).

Following three-straight road games at Saint Mary’s (Jan. 26), Pacific (Jan. 28) and San Diego (Feb. 4), BYU finishes the regular season with four of its final six games at the Marriott Center.

Pepperdine (Feb. 9) and Loyola Marymount (Feb. 11) make the return trip to Provo before the Cougars hit the road one last time at Santa Clara (Feb. 16) and San Francisco (Feb. 18).

The regular season comes to a close in the final week of February when the Cougars host Portland (Feb. 23) and Gonzaga (Feb. 25). In last season’s home finale, BYU defeated the Zags 63-39 in front of a record 6,289 fans.
