WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – BYU men’s tennis class of 2023 commit Caden Hasler ended 2022 as the No. 1 ranked doubles player in the USTA Boys 18 & Under Junior National Standings. Hasler is the first individual from Utah to be No. 1 nationally in either doubles or singles since record keeping began 30 years ago.

To compile the standings, the United States Tennis Association awards each player points based on results from the association’s sanctioned tournaments, with points accumulating throughout the year. Hasler is also No. 26 in singles and No. 16 in the combined standings.

Full Rankings List

Hasler moved to No. 1 after the USTA National Indoor Championships in November, where he reached the doubles final with partner Dylan Tsoi. Earlier in 2022 Hasler won the USTA National Doubles Championships with Brandon Carpico and the ITA Summer Closed Championship with Cole Brashear. He also won the ITA event in singles.

A five-star recruit from Pleasant Grove, Utah, Hasler will be looking to defend his national rankings and previous state championships before graduating from American Fork High School in June 2023. He is mainly coached by Dillon Porter and his mother, Holly Hasler, in addition to BYU men’s tennis alum Georgy Batrakov and high school coach Jason Herud.
