Ogden in 2nd, Cougars in 5th after second day

STOCKTON, California (Oct. 31, 2014) – Led by senior Cole Ogden, BYU men’s golf is in fifth place after the second day of competition at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Friday.

The Cougars are in a tie for fifth place with Fresno State, shooting two-over-par. Denver took first place (-5) after the second round, while fellow West Coast Conference teams Pacific and Santa Clara are in seventh and 10th respectively.

Ogden finished the second round in a six-way tie for second place, shooting four-under-par.

“I played pretty solid,” Ogden said. “If all five of us can improve in the last round, then we have a chance of winning.”

Junior Joe Parkinson is tied for 20th after shooting one-over-par, keeping him in the top 20. Freshman Austin Banz ended the day in a tie for 26th place, shooting two-over-par.

Senior Jordan Rodgers jumped up 12 places to a tie for 29th place after shooting three-over-par. Junior Tommy Higham shot seven-over-par and finished in a tie for 46th place.

BYU will play the final round of the tournament on Saturday in Stockton. Live stats will be available on the BYU men’s golf schedule page.
