Men’s basketball signs Braeden Moore

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope has announced the signing of Braeden Moore to a National Letter of Intent.

A 6-foot-8 forward, Moore signs with the Cougars after spending his senior season of high school at Donda Academy in Simi Valley, Calif. Rated as a four-star recruit by ESPN and three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals. He checks in as the No. 61 power forward in the nation according to 247Sports Composite.

The native of Nashville, Tenn. scored over 2,000 points during his high school career. As a junior in 2020-21, he was named a finalist for Tennessee Mr. Basketball after averaging 18.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while leading Christ Presbyterian Academy to the Division II-A championship game. He also averaged 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per contest as a sophomore, shooting 56.0 percent from the field and 38.0 percent from 3-point range.

Moore becomes the third member of BYU’s 2022 signing class, joining four-star prospect Collin Chandler (ranked No. 29 by ESPN) and Coastal Carolina transfer Rudi Williams.
