Cougars face New Orleans in game two of the 2020-21 season

PROVO, Utah — Coming off a dominant 108-59 win over Westminster College in the season opener Wednesday, BYU (1-0) has a quick turn around as it hosts New Orleans (0-0) on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Marriott Center.

The game will be broadcast live on BYUtv with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MT. Countdown To Tipoff, a 30-minute pregame show, will air at 6:30 p.m. MT. 
 
The BYU-New Orleans game will also be broadcast on the BYU Sports Network on KSL Radio 102.7 FM/1160 AM, BYUradio SiriusXM 143, BYUradio.org, BYUradio app, BYU Cougars app, BYU Gameday App.

Against Westminster, the Cougars hit 18 3-pointers to tie a BYU school record for most threes in a game, which was set last season against Loyola Marymount. Senior guard Alex Barcello led the team with a career-high 25 points, followed by Utah Valley transfer Brandon Averette who had 15 in his BYU debut. Kolby Lee had a career-high seven assists and Richard Harward led the Cougars in rebounds with seven.

New Orleans is coached by Mark Slessinger who enters his 10th Season at the helm with a 121-150 record. The Cougars and the Privateers have meet just once in basketball. On March 12, 1987, New Orleans upset BYU 83-79 in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.
