Jaren Hall vs. Oregon

PROVO, Utah — BYU football received a No. 19 ranking in this week's Associated Press Top 25, while being rated No. 23 in the USA TODAY AFCA Coaches Poll.

The two national polls were released Sunday with AP voters moving the Cougars seven places from No. 12, while the coaches dropped BYU nine spots from No. 14 after its loss at nationally ranked Oregon. The Ducks, meanwhile, jumped 10 places to No. 15 in AP and six spots to No. 18 in the AFCA.

Baylor, who BYU defeated in week two, is ranked No. 17 in both polls, moving up two places in the AFCA rankings and keeping its ranking from last week by the media. Upcoming BYU opponent Arkansas out of the SEC is the No. 10 team in the nation in both rankings, maintaining that same spot from last week in AP and being moved up one place by the coaches into the top 10.

The top seven teams in the AP rankings stayed the same, while the voting by coaches this week reflected the media in ranking teams one through seven in the same order. Georgia is now No. 1 in both polls, followed by Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, Oklahoma and USC. Kentucky received the nod from AP at No. 8, followed by Oklahoma State at No. 9. The coaches favored the Cowboys at No. 8, just in front of the Wildcats. The Razorbacks round out the top 10.

This week's AP rankings marks BYU’s 263rd appearance in the AP poll and 30th in the last three seasons. This week BYU (2-1) hosts former WAC and Mountain West Conference foe Wyoming (3-1) on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. MDT in LaVell Edwards Stadium. The game is being televised nationally on ESPN2.

Tickets to the game are available at BYUtickets.com.
