Day 2

DANVILLE, Calif. — Behind a top-5 finish from Patrick Fishburn, BYU men's golf shot 3 under in round three to take third place at the West Coast Conference Championship, Wednesday.

"We played pretty good today as a team," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "The two 69s shot by Fishburn and Pritchard helped us. We had the chance to shoot the low score of the day, but we had a couple of errors finishing. The team has made some very positive strides the last few weeks. I appreciate the effort of each one of the guys. We have a respectable young group."

The Cougars shot their lowest round of the tournament Wednesday, shooting 3 under. BYU shot +3 and +4 in rounds one and two, respectively. BYU finished at 4 over at the WCC Championship. The Cougars birdied 19 holes in round three as a team.

In the final round of play, Fishburn shot 3 under to move him from sixth place to fourth place. He finished the round strong, birdying the last two holes. Fishburn's top-5 finish is his third of the season. He shot 5 under overall in the event.
