PROVO -- The BYU gymnastics team continues to climb the national ladder moving up in the rankings once again from No. 9 to No. 8.

The Cougars are on a hot winning streak beating New Hampshire, Southern Utah, and placing second at the Cancun Classic. Now they are getting ready to take on No. 24 ranked and in-state rival Utah State University. The meet will take place in Logan, Utah on Tuesday, February 1 at 6:45 pm in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

"Utah State doesn't get the recognition they deserve," said Coach Cattermole. "They are a tough team and will be good competition."

Last season BYU faced USU twice and defeated them both times. However the Cougars are not taking this match lightly. They are continually trying to improve with each meet.

For the 2005 season the Aggies are 0-2, losing to Utah and Central Michigan. Despite the losses, USU's score against Utah was the best start the Aggies have had (193.85). They are currently ranked 29th in the nation.

After the meet against USU, the Cougars well head south to face Texas Women's University on Saturday, February 5th at 7 pm.
