FAIRFAX, Calif. — No. 33 BYU women’s golf sits in second place after 36 holes at the Meadow Club Women’s Intercollegiate, as three Cougars finished the day in the top 10 on Monday.

"We finished poorly in the first round," BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said, "but I'm proud of the team for bouncing back in the second round. Each girl made the adjustments needed. We will need to hit the ball close tomorrow and make birdies to edge San Diego State."

The Cougars shot 7-over-par as a team through two rounds of play and trail No. 28 San Diego State by one stroke. After BYU shot 7-over in its first round, the Cougars responded with an even-par second round.

Kendra Dalton led the Cougars, finishing the day in third place individually. The junior fired a first round 72 and a second round 71 to shoot 1-under. Dalton birdied eight holes on Monday.

Brooklyn Hocker shot even par through two rounds, carding 73-71. Hocker is tied for fourth place individually. Alexandra White also placed in the top 10, tying for sixth place. After opening with a 76 in the morning, White fired a second-round 70, shooting 3-under on the back nine.

Rose Huang shot 6-over through two rounds and Lauren Atkinson shot 8-over-par. Huang is tied for 23rd, while Atkinson is tied for 35th.

Anna Kennedy and Aiko Leong participated in the tournament as individuals. Kennedy and Leong sit at 12-over and 14-over, respectively.

BYU women’s golf will compete in the third and final round of the Meadow Club Women’s Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Teams will tee off at 8:15 a.m. PST. Links to live stats can be found on the BYU women’s golf schedule page.
